Day-to-day living Is a solveable riddle Like the one in the past Posed by the Sphinx: An endless yin and yang Of cold white cigarettes And hot black coffee. Scintillating. Titillating. Everyday existence Comes with sticky commitments Like a blue-green dragonfly Caught in a pool of pitch. The dynamics of dualism: Lacy-winged life humming. Black tar death droning. Titillating. Oscillating. Business ups and downs. Natural highs and lows. Sexual ins and outs. Talk runs pro and con, So fashions flow. Secrets still stand strong, But now I know I know. Oscillating. Vacillating. 1976

Number 15 of many

I walk and I hurt the sound of broken parts is the one of the soul and that is what I see if only they could flow like new wishes of turning deaf because I hear them now that everything persists and in this depth they convince me I am blessed I open my arms and fall in the abyss something I long for truly and something I truly long for. I walk and I hurt the letters came small and that is how I feel where do they go the old pieces of myself because I need them now that the void exists and in every step they drill whatever is left and I don't even know anymore if it is something word-worthy or something unworthy of words.

Interlude b

Photographs. So many photographs. Smiles. Real smiles. Fake smiles. Loud music. Everyone singing the same song, each for a different reason. Everyone searching for a home in a note, a lyric, a chord. Some of us just belong in the road. In a street light, in a park tree, in an untuned guitar, in a sand of a beach, in a sky of a galaxy. The capturing of the moment. Not to miss. Not to forget. How we were, what we did, how we passed the time. Real moments. Fake moments. Pictures alive. A girl in a white tee and black leather jacket, looking like she doesn't care at all, although she does, smiling. That crooked smile covered under her trademark red lipstick. She looks mean, always ready for it, carrying her somberness in her eyes, calling out a silent "help me", searching for a home. Trying to be found, cause she's lost. Wanting it all. Hands up in the sky, here and there, holding tight, letting go. Some people we know, some people we don't anymore. Some people we thought we knew.

The Playlist

One of the things I always liked about Sonama was their rooms weren't clinically cold. None of the stark white cabinetry and walls I saw at other places I had checked out. While they all used the standard beds and plants, Sonama felt more natural. Like stepping into the guest room at a quaint bed and breakfast, with warm textured walls and overstuffed duvets surrounded by small floral print curtains. My room had colorful quilts piled on top of an antique armchair besides a mirrored dresser, with stuffed bears and quirky knick-knacks crowded into all four corners. The plants and flowers were real, too, and you could smell their freshly watered

Far from Perfect

I cannot stand hypocrisy, though I know I'm guilty of it. I care nothing for dishonesty, but I've told a lie or two. I do not condone betrayal, yet I've set a few fires along the way. I would never blame another if the blame was mine to take. My intention was never to hurt you, but it happened just the same. I do not expect forgiveness, I doubt I could give it either way. I would never claim perfection, though I am a perfectionist. It means I never finish anything, because I'm never happy with how it ends. So I guess you could say I'm far from perfect. I would certainly agree. At least I'm honest about it, just as sure as the word
