the pageant of the mind must rest
without its winner;

this mortar thrown at rust and space
to keep the organ in suspense

and waiting to be made

while behind a knob, the onion wilds
through
dock leaves
red ants
black medic
and other beings the sun believes in.

i’ve lived you long enough
to end.

thanks for the advice.

I'll say at first my vocabulary, in respects to botany does need some improvement, but that is what made this piece more fun. Not too many times does a title actually come in that needs to be with the actual work and here the case in the opposite. Following from it we are treated to a symphony of natural elements that leads me to believe you my have the brown thumb - perhaps?

The imagery of the garden out back is quite interesting. I was brought back by the mentions of wild onion - it has a pretty strong smell doesn't it? What I enjoyed was it was not some fancy garden, just an assortment of vegetation that one could easily find in the average garden. don't really have red ants in these parts, but the message in that stanza comes through.

Now the overall message that I got from this was a bit of sadness that this miniature pine just could not survive - despite the relentless efforts to keep it going. But there is that notion that sometimes just trying to do something unique should be a journey. We all know how important it is to savor the journey itself, and I'd like to think that this was some of the encouraging advice that shared through the experience.

Well done with these naturalized elements, writing truly does make the world prettier - especially when it masks the pungent aromas of wild onion. Well Done!
